Video for Prevost wins Video of the Year!

Honky Tonk Groupie, directed by Troy Niemans has won the award for Video of the Year at the SCMAs!

Congrats to Codie Prevost and his band on this win, along with the other awards that Codie won at the event (including Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year). The video, which is set to eclipse 100,000 Youtube views can be seen here!

ECMA Nomination for Video of the Year!

The video for Matt Andersen’s ‘Fired Up’ was nominated for Fan’s Choice Video of the Year at the 2012 ECMA’s! This was a huge honour, as these awards cover all genres of music and there were some heavy hitters in the running: George Canyon, Jimmy Rankin, The Trews, Hey Rosetta to name a few. In the end, Jimmy’s video won, and we extend a huge congrats to him!

And congratulations to Matt, who took home top prizes in two categories: Solo Recording of the Year and Blues Recording of the Year. Check out more on the ECMA and the full list of nominees and winners here!

New video for Bobby Wills!

We had the pleasure of traveling to Nashville and Alabama recently to shoot the debut video for EMI/On Ramp Records crooner Bobby Wills!

The video, directed by Troy Niemans involves several locations in the Muscle Shoals, Alabama area and features many local actors and residents. Bobby wrote and recorded his album in the famed Muscle Shoals area with acclaimed writers Walt Aldridge and Mike Pyle. From Etta James, the Stones and Bob Dylan to The Black Keys, this area is drenched in American music history, check it out here!

The single and video is slated for a late-May 2012 release!

Outernational shoots Mantracker for BVJ promo!

Mantracker, Heartland’s Amber Marshall and CTV’s Darrel Janz were all involved in a promo video directed by Troy Niemans, commissioned by the town of High River. The video is High River’s entry into the Big Valley Jamboree’s ‘Small Town Saturday Night’ competition.

Towns throughout Alberta submitted videos to try to win a mini Big Valley Jamboree in their town. High River ended up placing second to the town of Legal in northern Alberta (congrats!), winning $1000 for the local High River charities of choice. View the 2 minute video here!

We are pleased to announce that CMT has added both of our new videos into rotation! Codie Prevost’s Honky Tonk Groupie, and Matt Andersen’s Fired Up were selected as the only two Canadian videos added this week. Directed by Troy Niemans, both of these independently-financed vids were recently shot in various locations in and around Calgary, Alberta.

The big debut of ‘Fired Up’!

The video for Matt Andersen’s Fired Up was released on Saturday, September 3 to rave reviews. This is Matt’s first official music video and we are extremely proud to have produced this for him.

Video shoot for CCMA nominee Codie Prevost!

Codie Prevost is coming to Calgary to film his new video for ‘Honky Tonk Groupie’! The shoot, directed by Troy Niemans will take place at the world famous Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall, on August 8th, from 11:00 am til 7:00 pm. If you would like to be IN the video please send us an email to register & confirm, females, age 18-35. Please forward this information to your friends, we need a packed house, staging a wild, raucous party. Girls will be featured in close-ups, etc throughout, as well as creating a crowd scene. Dress as though it’s Stampede time… the sexier the better (Did we mention the song title?)…

Codie will be giving away a signed guitar to one lucky extra, drawn randomly during the shoot!!

Codie Prevost… A multiple award-winning singer, who is known for having wild live shows and legions of dedicated fans. He is fresh off of a series of European shows and in the middle of a very busy Canadian/U.S. summer festival circuit. Outernational cameras rolling for Matt Andersen!

Outernational Films is very excited to be working with Matt Andersen! The new musical force of nature from New Brunswick is flying to Alberta to shoot his first ever music video, to be directed by Troy Niemans. Travelling is nothing new for Matt, he plays 200 shows a year, and just recently returned from playing in the prestigious Glastonbury Festival in the UK. He was featured this week on CMT as part of their XM Sessions.

Check him out live, he will be headlining Friday night at the Calgary Folk Fest, 22 July 2011.

On Jan 24, 2010 Matt won the 26th edition of the 2010 International Blues Challenge (IBC) in the birthplace of Rock N’ Roll and home of the blues, Memphis, TN. Matt was sponsored for this event by the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival in Fredericton, NB in the solo/duo category. Blues musicians from all over the world including 39 states, 12 countries and 5 continents were chosen by their respected Blues societies to compete in venues on the world-famous Beale Street. As the big winner, Matt opens the door to the U.S. market and the larger world stage!

Matt is the 1st Canadian ever to Win the IBC in it’s 26 years of inception!
