Outernational Films is proud to have produced the new music video for CCMA Female Artist of the Year, Victoria Banks. It was shot, directed and edited by Troy Niemans. The catchy, fast-paced song tells the tale of a woman who leaves her unhappy situation to go out on her own and rediscover her love for life and freedom. A little info on Victoria… Ontario-born, now she calls Nashville home. She made a name for herself penning some of the biggest hits in country music, including Johnny Reid’s 2010 smash hit ’Dance With Me’. Now Victoria is quickly making a name for herself as one of the premier female singer/songwriters in country music. She was honoured with 2 prestigious awards at last fall’s Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards: Female Artist of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. To learn more about Victoria, click here to read her bio.

Last year we met and worked with the uber-talented gentleman and Canadian treasure Jay Semko, on his video for ‘Comeback Kid‘. Jay is best known for knocking out hits as the singer/songwriter of legendary band The Northern Pikes. As well, Jay is always busy writing new songs, composing for tv (every episode of Due South, the new series Dust-Up, many others), and touring with various projects, whether the Pikes or on the country circuit. The self-titled album of which ‘Comeback Kid’ is from, has been doing very well since it’s launch almost a year ago. Jay has recently been named as a second ballot nominee for CCMA Roots Artist of the Year, and as well Troy Niemans is on the second ballot for CCMA Video Director of the Year, for his work on Jay’s ‘Comeback Kid’ music video. The WCMA (Breakout West) nominations have also been announced and Jay is up for Songwriter of the Year for his haunting track ‘Before You Leave Canada’. Check out Jay’s Official Website here.
Congrats Jay, and best of luck with the nominations, you ROCK!
